Yoga is an ancient art form, that has much in common with disciplines aimed at refining and culturing who we are. It is a broad subject open to many interpretations and practices. Yoga taught at Four Winds is about building a practice mentality, a way of approaching the postures that is systematic and transformational on all levels; body, mind and spirit.
Yoga does not belong to any culture, rather we bring our culture to yoga and work from there. The gift of Yoga to the west by India has allowed this ancient art to flourish and grow by virtue of its many positive effects on those who regularly practice.
Womens Workshop: Tuesday 6 October 2009
It occurred to me today that aging is not about how we look, but how we feel. I was watching my young son race around madly in the post office, the lady at the counter commented on his energy and asked 'where can I get some of that'!
This is why I love the womens workshop; it is about taking care of women by taking care of their energy. The October workshop is for all ages and all levels - and it is all about energy!
This is for more experienced students and teachers that are working
with a full range of yoga asanas and pranayama. Each week focuses on a
different aspect of Yoga asana, last week pranayama..
There
is no need to point out that the time that leads up to Christmas can be
stressful. Time restraints, financial commitments, 3 lunches in one day! Bound
to take its toll in some form.
Short
of bailing out and heading for the hills this restorative workshop is to help
the transition into holiday mode.
